History
Parkdale Green Thumb Enterprises (PGTE) is an award-winning Eco-Landscaping social enterprise operated by Working for Change. PGTE’s first contract in 2001 was with the Parkdale Village Business Improvement Area. 18 years later, we offer climate change responsive plant maintenance, landscaping and streetscaping services to a wide range of commercial clients. Our specialty is serving Business Improvement Areas. Dundas West, Roncesvalles, Parkdale Village and College Promenade BIAs are just a few of our happy clients. In addition, we also offer services to non-profit organizations, hospitals and community organizations. We beautify your Toronto neighbourhood — for a good cause!
Eco-Landscaping social enterprise: People and Planet-friendly
PGTE promotes Regenerative Landscaping that pulls carbon from the atmosphere and into the soil where it belongs, by planting commercial urban green spaces with perennial plants and reviving depleted soils with natural products and methods. We favour native plant species whenever possible, to support our pollinator friends.
Our staff use public transit and bicycles to access work sites. Portable, hand-held watering equipment (not trucks!) means we don’t waste water and plants get individual attention.
